Were we all fools to expect a mature reply from Miley? Apparently so! What ensued was a war of words between the two singers, after Miley appeared to make fun of Sinéad for her past mental illness. Four open letters later, and Miley had had just about enough – and simply opted to ignore Sinéad’s words of wisdom from thereon in. We won’t be expecting a collaboration any time soon, then!

5. Simon Cowell Expecting A Baby…With His Friend’s Wife

The media went into overdrive after it was revealed that Simon Cowell was expecting a baby with Lauren Silverman, the wife of the X Factor mogul’s (presumably now former) close friend, Andrew Silverman. Aside from the fact that Cowell previously insisted that he would never have children, the scandal was made all the more juicy by the fact that Cowell and Silverman had not even gone exclusive with their relationship. Fast forward to the end of 2013 and the couple are said to be ecstatically excited about welcoming mini-Simon in the early spring, with talk of an impending engagement also rife.
